This is the first 'doodle' I've put up that is of the modern era. It was drawn perhaps a month or so before this part of the web popped into existence. The primary inspiration came from an extended walk down a small portion the great Avenue of Milwaukee. Just experiencing the city from a pedestrian perspective for a period of time longer than walking from the car to the destination, experiencing and actually paying attention to it. It gets one to thinking about the interconnectedness of things, and the crazy reasons why things have fallen into place the way they have. During the four or five or six days of drawing, the prime motivator for continuing was a freshly kindled fear and acceptance of perhaps imminent death. Not really anything serious or existing anywhere except inside my head, but real enough for the purpose at hand. Simply keeping in mind that this could have been the *last* drawing was enough to lend the whole experience of creating it a surreal and lofty feel.
